NODES IN DISEQUILIBRIUM

It seems to me that yet we sleep, we dream”

Starting with the concept that disequilibrium is the stage that stimulates action toward achieving balance, NtS’ working group investigated performance anxiety and the general self-judgment and fear of being evaluated negatively by others from which it generates.

This feeling, that is often disproportionate compared to objective factors – such as age, the possibility of being wrong and correcting oneself, the affection of the parent that remains so regardless, the inability to control everything as we would like or the possibility of seeing a defeat as an event and not as a catastrophe – is the result of fixed social laws and has a strong impact on new generations that no longer have time to dream since they have to think everything concrete and realize it as quickly as possible.
By virtue of these reflections, the group worked on the ability to dream and decided to stage A Midsummer Night’s Dream by freely reinterpreting the dramaturgical dynamics proposed by Shakespeare.

At the end of the workshop, which was very positively valuated by the young artists involved, who felt free to express themselves and commit to the work while having fun, they explained what dreaming mean to each of them.
